According to a research by Futuresource Consulting, a mixed impact was observed on pay TV and paid video even though digital video streaming consumption is increasing. Around 2000 people in UK and US & 1500 in France and Germany were surveyed. It was found that Amazon Prime and Netflix are highest used in US, UK and Germany. In this region, multiple subscription video on demand services are used most. Netflix is also subscribed by 82% & 69% Amazon Prime users in US and UK respectively.
Higher penetration of SVOD services were seen in Pay TV households than ones having free-to-air connection. 85% of smart TV owners in US & UK are connected. SVOD is taking more time of Pay TV in US and UK, while in Germany & France, Pay TV penetration is double in Netflix connected homes than others.
