Online streaming giant, Netflix has fell short of its own subscriber growth projections. In the second quarter of 2018, Netflix has added just 5.2 million new subscribers as compared to its projected number of 6.2 million. In percentage terms, Netflix had registered a big miss against the estimated subscriber growth in the second quarter of 2016, when its shares had fell by 13%

Reed Hastings, Chief Executive, Netflix, quoted, “The company never worked out what happened in 2016 either, other than that there is some lumpiness in the business”.
