According to a report ‘Netflix on Pay TV: A Marriage of Convenience’ by IHS, PayTV operators who have partnered with Netflix are witnessing better customer satisfaction ratings and has been lucrative for most of them. Netflix already has 25 such PayTV partners and is expected to increase as it expands its base to 130 new countries. In the future, this could mean that there will be increased pressure on Pay-TV operators to offer more VoD and sVoD options.

“Netflix is a both less lucrative and more dangerous content partner to work with than the other premium networks pay TV providers traditionally partner with, such as HBO. But collaborating with the ever-popular streaming service is necessary for many operators positioning their platforms as one-stop-shop ecosystems for TV and video content,” said IHS Technology research director, Ted Hall.
