YouTube launches a VR App for DayDream

After it first decided to enter into the realm of immersive 360° and virtual reality (VR) viewing, YouTube plans to launch a brand new video format, VR180.

The new format is the result of its parent Google’s Daydream team. VR180 video enables focusing on what’s exactly in front of the viewer and displays it in high resolution on the desktop and on the mobile.
When viewed with Cardboard, Daydream and PSVR which lets images to be viewed stereoscopically in 3D. Live streaming of videos is also supported by VR180 so YouTube creators and fans can be together in real time.

VR videos can be set up and filmed the way they would be able to with any other camera. Read More
