SVOD on the rise in US homes

A continued growth has been seen in Multiple subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services in U.S TV homes.
According to a recent study, 38% of TV homes subscribe to 2 or more major subscription VOD services like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu.

Those that have a subscription to all three platforms have more than doubled the percentage of 6% in 2016.
This survey was conducted on 1,806 U.S consumers with broadband access that watch on an average, five hours of TV per week. Data was collected in June 2017.

The research further suggested that 66% of viewers subscribe to at least one of the major SVOD services : Netflix, Amazon or Hulu which is up from 62% in 2016.
75% said that Netflix was the first SVOD they subscribed to whereas 62% subscribed to either Netflix only or Netflix with Amazon or Hulu. About 6% have Amazon or Hulu subscription without Netflix subscription. Read More
