Middle East and North Africa OTT TV episodes and movies are expected to generate revenues of $1.75 billion by 2022 which will more than quadrupled the $428 million recorded in 2016.

OTT TV & Video Forecasts report reports that SVOD revenues are set to hit $1.23 billion by 2022 which accounts for 70% of the OTT total which is almost $1 billion higher than the 2016 total (56% of OTT revenues).

As per Digital TV Research, 17.27 million homes will have SVOD by 2022, a rise from 3.74 million as reported by 2016 end. Some more findings from the research: Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Icflix, Starz Play, Iflix and Shahid Plus will represent 39% of the region’s SVOD subscribers by 2022 end. This number is up from 34% in 2016. These 6 platforms will represent 78% of SVOD subscribers by 2022 which is a decline from 88% in 2016.

Netflix is expected to be the largest SVOD platform by 2022 with an estimated 3.26 million paying subscribers. Icflix will have more than 2 million subscribers by 2022. Starz Play will have 1.60 million additions. Only 6 of the 8 current countries in the region make up 695,000 subs for Iflix by 2022. To read more you can view the full report here.
