According to a new market research report by Future Market Insights, the Global OTT content revenues are expected to reach $53.2 billion by year-end 2016, up from $47.7 billion in 2015. Increasing broadband penetration, mobile device adoption, introduction of new smartphones and features, attractive pricing, more connectivity and content options will further fuel this growth.
The market research divided the OTT content market in parts. The video content segment was valued at US$ 24.4 billion in 2015, advertising video on demand (SVOD) segment was valued at US$ 17.3 billion and the smartphone and tablet segment was valued at US$ 19.1 billion and all these markets are expected to remain dominant through 2026.
