Roku is ready to launch a hybrid set-top box that promises to deliver traditional linear TV content alongside its video streaming services from a single device. The new box will be first available with Sky. It will be consequently available for Roku powered partners later in the year.

Andrew Ferrone, vice president of pay TV at Roku, says “With the new Roku Powered hybrid set top box we are enabling operators to bridge the gap between linear broadcast and streaming TV services”. He also adds, “Many consumers have a hybrid viewing pattern and leverage both traditional broadcast and on demand or catch-up services.”

The home screen experience of this OTT ecosystem has also been enhanced by adding new customization options.
