Tvigle Media founder Egor Yakovlev believes that about 65% of all video starts in Russia will be on smart phones, set-top boxes and smart TVs. In fact, his optimism goes as far as suggesting that the overall audience for OTT video will go up to $100 million in Russia only with a monthly viewing duration of 80 hours approximately.
The ad-backed OTT video market will end up much higher at about $800 million.
This suggested growth rate is further reinforced by claims of about 70% content being local productions in Russia and a quarter of its being produced for the second screen, or say, OTT platforms.
