Spotify signs a licensing deal with Saregama to offer the latter’s music catalog on its music streaming service to its users.

The partnership with the Indian music label will bring more than 100,000 retro and new age songs in more than 2 dozen languages for users in India, one of Asia’s largest entertainment markets.

Paul Smith, Director of Global Licensing, Spotify, said, “ With the full Saregama catalogue available on Spotify India, our users will not only find their favorite retro music across local languages, but also be able to discover more old-school songs through Spotify’s locally curated playlists- both editorial and algorithmic”.
