The Russian Telco, Rostelecom recently announced that it has acquired over 40,000 subscribers in the Penza region. The telco declared that the figures grew by 20% year by year by June end this year. The IPTV VOD platform added about 6,500 new subscribers in the region, in January-July.
The OTT video streaming market in Russia is growing very fast. OTT market subscriber base in the region is expected to reach 2 million by 2018 and the volume of OTT operator market to reach 10.4 billion RUB by 2018, at the CAGR by revenue of 72% during 2014 – 2018.
