VOD market in Europe growing at 17% each year – ITMedia Consulting

According to Italian research firm ITMedia Consulting, the European VOD market as per 2017-2020 estimates will grow by an average of 17% each year with its current worth being €4.2 billion which is expected to reach until €6.7 billion in 2020.

Subscription Video-On-Demand (SVOD) services will increase whereas Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) will have a reduction in its market share from 37% in 2017 to 27% in 2020.

The main market made up of France, Germany and the UK that constitutes 40% of the total Western Europe population will constitute 63% of the VOD market in 2017 and 62% in 2020. These three countries will generate revenues of €2.7 billion in 2017 and is expected to climb up to 4.1 billion in 2020 with a yearly growth of 15%. Read More
