At Muvi, we are committed to building inclusive and accessible digital experiences for all users, including individuals with disabilities. Our platforms are being aligned with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), effective from 28 June 2025, and we strive to meet or exceed global accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549.
This statement outlines Muvi’s accessibility posture, current implementation status, and our roadmap for continuous improvement. It covers both Muvi’s own products and customer streaming platforms built using Muvi One.
SCOPE OF ACCESSIBILITY
This accessibility statement applies to:
- Muvi Corporate Website (www.muvi.com)
- The Muvi Product CMS used by customers to manage their streaming platforms
- Customer Facing Streaming Platforms built using Muvi One, including:
- Web-based streaming platforms
- Android and iOS mobile streaming apps
- TV streaming apps (Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Android TV)
- Muvi Help Center, onboarding materials, and customer-facing documentation
ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS
Muvi aligns its accessibility roadmap with the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- EN 301 549 (European ICT accessibility requirements)
- Platform-specific accessibility standards, such as:
- Apple tvOS Human Interface Guidelines
- Android TV accessibility standards
- Roku accessibility guidelines
- Fire OS accessibility documentation
ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES IMPLEMENTED
We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility:
Web & Mobile Apps (Muvi One Customer Platforms + Muvi Corporate Website)
- Screen reader compatibility tested across Windows, Android, and iOS
- Full keyboard navigation support
- Semantic HTML, proper ARIA roles, and descriptive alt text
- Color contrast ratios verified and compliant
Smart TV Apps (Muvi One Customer Platforms)
- Partial support for screen readers and remote navigability across Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku
- Platform-native focus management (e.g., UIFocusEngine, Leanback) for accessible navigation
Documentation & Help Center
- Clear heading hierarchy and plain language use
- Descriptive, meaningful hyperlinks (avoiding “click here”)
- Alt text included for illustrative content
Quality Assurance
- Accessibility checks integrated in UI regression cycles
- Audits using Lighthouse and manual screen reader walkthroughs
- Contrast, keyboard navigation, and focus indicators manually validated
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
We acknowledge the following areas where accessibility features are still being improved:
- Adding captions and transcripts for all tutorials and FAQs
- Expanding formal accessibility test cases in QA
- Improving platform-specific support on TV apps
- Providing dedicated training for support teams on accessibility handling
- Ensuring complete screen reader compatibility in the Help Center
ONGOING EFFORTS
We acknowledge the following areas where accessibility features are still being improved:
- Adding captions and transcripts for all video tutorials and FAQs across Help Center and product interfaces
- Expanding our formal accessibility test suite within the QA process to include use cases for screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and ARIA compliance
- Enhancing Smart TV app accessibility to meet platform-specific standards for Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and Android TV
- Conducting support team training sessions focused on identifying, handling, and escalating accessibility-related queries
- Optimizing the Help Center to ensure full compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies
- Introducing accessibility review checkpoints in our product development lifecycle for all new features and releases
