UK households seem to have joined the OTT wave as a whopping 23% rise has been witnessed in the total SVOD subscriber count in 2017. Currently, OTT Platform subscriber count in the UK has reached a staggering 10 million with Netflix heading the race with 8.2 million subscribers under its belt.

The arch-rival of Netflix, streaming giant Amazon Prime Video grew the fastest, up by 41 percent to 4.3 million. Sky’s Now TV scored a bronze with 1.5 million subscribers, up by 0.4 million in 2017.

According to sources, the SVOD bandwagon in the UK is dominated by half (55%) of all children in the UK as they have access to one of the SVOD services and this rises to 62 percent of 16-24 year-olds and 56 percent of 25-34s.
