OTT service Acorn TV debuts in South Africa where it will be offering its subscribers British and International television content. The video streaming service is currently present in 29 countries. In South Africa it will be competing with the likes of Netflix, Naspers’ Showmax run by MultiChoice, Amazon Prime Video, TV2GO, and Cell C Black.

Acorn TV is helmed by RLJ Entertainment and a subsidiary of AMC Networks. Apart from the web, Acorn TV app is accessible via the Apple TV, Android, iPhone, iPad, and Roku streaming players.
