According to a Juniper Research study, the increasing consumption of eSports and live streaming games will lead to $3.5 billion (€3.29bn) revenues by 2021, up from $1.8 billion in 2017.
The research reported that through subscription services will attract more viewers, advertising will generate more revenues for esports. The research also stated that after advertising, alternative monetization means such as sale of merchandises, time-limited content (in-game items), and access passes will drive the industry forwards.
