Facebook pumps up live streaming

Roshan Dwivedi Published on : 07 April 2016

Facebook is actively adding features to Facebook Live to make it competitive with industry leader, Periscope. Live video, after a dull start, has become a rage today, with Snapchat and Meerkat adding to the competition. Facebook is pushing publishers to produce live videos, even is offering to pay for producing live video content. Reports say that Mark Zuckerberg is ‘obsessed’ with live streaming’s potential. Features like streaming live video to a particular friend list and color filters are expected to come up soon. A dedicated video tab is being rolled on its Android and iOS apps. Facebook has been liberally borrowing ideas from Periscope like live maps and reactions popping up like hearts on Periscope.
