Television viewership in the United States has seen a major 12% drop, as compared to the January of 2014, the eight consecutive double digit drop, as reported by Nielsen. Lobby group The Internet Association, which counts Google, Netflix, Amazon and Yahoo among its members, revenue from online video on demand streaming service has increased by 175 per cent between 2010 and 2013, from $1.86 billion to $5.12 billion, the group has confirmed. While the signs for the VoD industry are all gratuitous, it also means the TV players need to up their game.
