OTT TV and video thrives in Latin America 22 August 2017


In Latin American (LATAM) countries, revenues from OTT TV and movies are expected to hit $4.60 billion in 2022. This is a rise from $1.87 billion in 2016.

SVOD will continue to be the region’s largest OTT revenue source amounting to $2.86 billion by 2022 (62% of the total).
By 2022, as per OTT TV and Video Forecasts report, there will be 32.54 million SVOD subscribers which is almost double of 17.08 million at the end of 2016.

Brazil will represent 34% of SVOD subs in the region by 2022 and Mexico will rake in 28%.
Netflix is expected to remain the largest pan-regional SVOD platform, accounting for half of the region’s total by 2022.
