According to reports, Starz Play accounts for 26% of the total MENA OTT market share and left behind the streaming giant Netflix which holds a mere 16% share. Icflix, another SVOD platform stands third with 11% of the total OTT market share.
Starz Play has also beaten Netflix in terms of revenue accounting for 28% compared to Netflix’s 21% in the growing market overall.
Maaz Sheikh, CEO and co-founder of Starz Play quoted, “We launched Starz Play in April 2015, and since then we have watched it grow from a startup with an inaugural team of just 15 to an industry-leader employing 100 extremely talented individuals.”
