Netflix added 5.2 million subscribers in the second quarter of 2017 reaching 100 million subscribers and some of that gain can be attributed to mobile.
In the second quarter of 2017, 5.2 million subscribers were added reaching a total of 100 million subscribers for the first time. As per app measurement company App Annie it’s US revenue from iOS and Google Play including Netflix subscriptions bought via the app on a smartphone or tablet was higher than any other app last quarter.
According to ComScore, Americans watched Netflix on their phones for 7.5 billion minutes in June 2017.
Further findings from ComScore included, rise in smartphone viewership at a much faster rate than other digital platforms. Viewership on Non smartphone (desktops and tablets) rose by 48%.
