According to a new report from the Broadcast Magazine, Dutch public broadcaster NPO is all set to launch its new VOD platform in September, 2017.

According to a Digitalsmiths’ report, 63.9% respondents said they used SVOD services on a monthly basis. The report states that there has been an increase of 29% in the user subscriptions for VOD services in last two years. Respondents said they subscribed to a VOD platform because of convenience, cost, lack of commercials, ability to watch shows/entire seasons and better content.

The report also shows that there has been cord cheating – password sharing. One in every 10 respondents who used SVOD services said they shared access with a paying SVOD subscriber. TV app download on tablets and smart phones has increased by 2.4% year-over-year to reach 30.2%.
