CBS has launched its video streaming service – CBS All Access some two years back and the OTT provider has added some 1.2 million subscribers till now, according a recent report by The Wall Street Journal. That number is up from the 1 million subscribers CBS reported for both All Access and its Showtime OTT service in July.
CBS aims to add 8 million subscribers for both of its OTT services by 2020, expecting an even split. The growth for All Access platform has been slow, adding in some 0.4 million net additions per year so far, and in order to achieve this milestone the company needs to accelerate its growth.
