The Australian OTT platform Stan, has followed suit with its competitor Netflix and increased its subscription prices and also added a new tier to its pricing structure. As part of the increase, Stan has raised its Standard Plan by 20% that takes it from $10 per month to $12 per month.
Netflix previously increased the cost of its subscription service in Australia after the government imposed the so called “netflix tax” that mandated GST to be applicable to international suppliers of digital products and services like streaming platforms.
