Pluto TV is adding on to its linear-style OTT offering a free ad-based VOD service which will include movies and TV shows from partners like Lionsgate, MGM and Warner Bros. This will bring it to closer competition with on-demand services like Crackle, TubiTV and Vudu. The catalog will initially include titles such as MGM’s Silence of the Lambs and The Usual Suspects and Paramount Pictures’ Vanilla Sky apart from TV shows like Alf (Lionsgate) and the Ben Stiller Show (Warner Bros).
Sky Captain, the World of Tomorrow, the Birdcage, Charlotte’s Web, Thelma & Louise, Mad Max, The Hours, Defiance, The Kite Runner, Dances with Wolves, Paulie, Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away and Lars and the Real Girl are some of the other titles that are part of Pluto TV’s offering. With more than 100-plus curated OTT channels, Pluto TV is now said to have more than 6 million monthly active users which went up from 5 million (Q4 2016).
