As per nScreenMedia analyst Colin Dixon, YouTube TV, it’s (Subscription Video on Demand) SVOD service, is losing quite a bit of money.

The way Dixon conducted his analysis was, he first priced 48 channels in YouTube TV’s basic tier based on SNL Kagan 2014 data. Then he settled on 35% premium to reflect average current-day content-licensing price rises. For sports networks, the analyst also referred to What You Pay for Sports to obtain updated licensing costs for sports networks.

He concluded that the total price of 48 networks came out to be $33.97.
So essentially YouTube TV is paying more in license fees than it is receiving in subscriptions.
