Hotstar introduces annual subscription for live sports event

Star India’s popular SVOD service has introduced a sports subscription service which will include live sports such as IPL at an annual subscription fee of Rs 299. While the delayed sports feed will be free as before, watching live sports will be chargeable. For the unsubscribers, IPL 2018 will be a 5-minute delay affair. Hotstar is already in news for streaming the IPL in Virtual Reality.

Hotstar which is touted as India’s largest video streaming platform with more than 100,000 hours of drama and movies in 9 languages that covers every major global sporting event.Star aims to reach 700 million viewers through TV and digital in 2018.
